    Broccoli, Carrots & Fresh Orange Sauce

    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. pkg. frozen Broccoli & Carrots
    1/2 cup Low sodium chicken broth
    1/2 cup Orange juice, best if freshly squeezed
    2 tsp. Cornstarch
    1 Green onion, sliced
    1/2 tsp. Dry basil, crushed
    1/2 tsp. Sugar
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1/4 tsp. Pepper
    1 Navel orange, peeled and thinly sliced

    Recipe



    In a pan, steam broccoli and carrots for 5 minutes, or until tender but crisp. Transfer vegetables to plate and keep warm.

    In the same pan, stir together broth and juice. Add cornstarch and stir until it dissolves. Stir in onions, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until sauce begins to thicken and bubble. Cook 1 minute more.

    Stir in sliced orange, and add vegetables. Toss gently to coat with sauce and serve immediately.

    Serves 4
