    Bourbon Cream Pie

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. bourbon whiskey
    2 1/2 c. milk
    3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    9-inch baked pie shell
    1 (1 oz.) sq. semi-sweet chocolate (room temperature)
    1 c. heavy cream, whipped


    Recipe

    Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Gradually stir in bourbon and milk mixing until smooth. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, boil 1 minute.Remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 of hot mixture into egg yolks,mixing well. Pour back into saucepan, simmer 1 minute while stirring. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into pie shell. Chill. Top with cream and shaved chocolate for garnish.
