Macadamia Nut Pie

Filling:
4 eggs, beaten
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup light Karo syrup
1/4 cup melted butter, cooled to room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup Macadamia nuts
1 unbaked 9" pie shell
Recipe
Mix well together, the eggs and sugar until yellow. Stir in the flour. Stir in the Karo syrup, butter, and vanilla until well mixed. Add nuts and stir together well. Pour into pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve with clouds of whipped cream.
Pie shell:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon Crisco
2-3 tablespoons of ice water
Cut in Crisco with pastry blender until the consistency of tiny peas. Sprinkle on water 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing mixture lightly and stirring with a fork until the dough is just moist enough to hold together. It should not be sticky. Shape dough into a smooth ball with hands and roll out with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface. Fit the crust into a 9" pie plate, trim and flute the edges.
