English Ground Beef And Mushroom Pie

1 Tb Oil
1 Lg Onion -- chopped
1 Lb Ground beef
1 Flour
2 Worcestershire
1 Tomato puree (can use paste)
8 Oz Shitake mushrooms -- or plain (potatoes are good, too!)
1 1/2 C Broth -- or water
1 Gravy powder
1 Sheet puff pastry -- thawed
1 Egg -- for brushing pastry
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 400^. Heat oil & saute onion until clear. Add beef and cook, crumbling, until browned. Stir in flour, then worc, puree, mushrooms (sliced) stock & salt & pepper to taste. Add 2 T. cold water to gravy granules and mix to form paste. Add to meat. Pour into pie dish (use pie bird, if you have one),cover with puff pastry, vent and brush with beaten egg.
Cook 20 - 30 minutes or until pastry is golden.
