1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup red cinnamon candy hearts
8 red apples
Recipe
1. Make a syrup of water, sugar and candy. Peel and remove centers of apples. Place apples in slowly boiling syrup and turn gently several times to obtain uniform color and thorough cooking. When done, but still whole, remove apples from syrup and chill.
2. To serve, place chilled apples on lettuce leaf. Fill center with creamed cheese or cottage cheese and top with a walnut half.
