3/4 C. evaporated milk
1 C. gumdrops (no black), finely chopped
1/2 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 C. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 C. chopped walnuts
Recipe
In small bowl combine milk and gumdrops. Let stand.
In another bowl beat together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract. Add milk mixture. Stir.
Measure in flour, baking powder, salt and nuts. Stir well. Spread mixture in a 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost while still warm.
Frosting:
1 1/2 C. confectioners’ sugar
2 T. butter or margarine
5 T. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Beat together until smooth. Spread on warm squares.
