    A Good Heart and A Light Hand - Ruth L. Gaskins

    Recipe Introduction


    A traditional cookie - crisp and sweet and very rich.

    List of Ingredients




    7 cups of sifted flour
    2 cups of brown sugar (firmly packed)
    1 cup of melted butter
    1 tablespoon soda
    1 tablespoon cream of tartar
    4 eggs

    Recipe



    Mix all ingredients well. Form into a roll and let stand in the refrigerator several hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Slice thinly and bake on greased cookie sheets for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: About 100 cookies
