Onion'n Oat Beer Bread

3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup oat bran
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon minced onion flakes
PLUS
1 teaspoon minced onion flakes
1 can light beer (12 oz) -- at room temperature
-- (1 1/2 cups)
1 tablespoon rolled oats
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Lightly oil a 4 x 8-inch loaf pan or spray with a nonstick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, except beer and rolled oats. Mix well. Add beer, stirring until foam subsides and all ingredients are moistened. Place mixture in prepared pan. Sprinkle with rolled oats. Bake 40 minutes until lightly browned.
Remove bread to a rack to cool.
Per serving: 87 calories, 3 g protein, 1 g fat, 18 g carbohydrate, 135 mg sodium, 0 mg cholesterol, 2 g fiber
