Fresh Nectarine Carrot Cake

1 1/2 cups fresh nectarines -- chopped
1 1/2 cups grated carrots
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar -- packed
1/2 cup walnuts -- chopped
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine all ingredients in bowl; stir until mixed. Turn into greased and floured 7-1/2 cup (9-inch) ring mold. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes in pan. Invert onto wire rack to cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
Note: Cake may also be baked in two greased and floured 8-inch round layer cake pans in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 minutes. Invert onto wire rack to cool. Frost with your favorite cream cheese icing.
