DRP: Chocolate Honey Oatmeal Cookies

My old recipe files.
2 1/2 cups unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup nuts* -- chopped
1 cup shortening (part butter)
1 1/4 cups liquid-type honey
2 eggs -- beaten
2 squares unsweetened chocolate -- melted
-- (2 ounces)
Measure flour and baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir well to blend. Add oats and nuts. Mix well.
Cream shortening thoroughly. Add honey gradually, beating constantly. Add flour mixture gradually, mixing with wooden spoon just enough to combine.
Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes
*Use any type of nuts you like.
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
