    German Red Cabbage

    1 medium red cabbage
    1 bay leaf
    2 tablespoons vinegar
    2 small apples
    salt
    pepper -- to taste

    Finely shred cabbage. Peel apples and slice. Add all ingredients. Cook until tender, about 20 minutes.
