    This is a great side dish to have with roast beef or roast chicken. This can also double as a dessert.

    Cherry Noodle Kugel

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 package medium-size egg noodles
    2 eggs -- well beaten
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 pint sour cream
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1 package cream cheese (3 oz)
    2 tablespoons melted butter
    1 can cherry pie filling (12 oz)

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cook noodles according to directions on package and then drain.

    In a large bowl cream the cream cheese and eggs, sugar and salt. Stir in sour cream and cottage cheese. Add the noodles and butter, blending well. Place in a greased 2-quart baking dish. Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until brown and crisp. Top with cherry pie filling*.

    *Judi's note: I like to warm the pie filling in the microwave just until warm. Do not make it real hot.
