    Judi's Cranapple Salad

    1 package black cherry (6 oz)
    2 cups boiling water
    1 can whole cranberry sauce (16 oz)
    1 can applesauce (8-1/2 oz)
    1/2 cup port wine
    1/4 cup chopped walnuts

    Dissolve jello in boiling water. Add cranberry sauce, breaking up whole pieces with a spoon. Add applesauce to mixture, then port wine. Mix all together. Pour into a glass baking dish. Then scatter walnuts throughout the jello mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until it firms up at least 4 to 5 hours.

    Note: This appeared in a magazine back in the late 1970s. I have been making it for holiday meals since the 70s.
