    Port Wine Pork Bake

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

    3 tablespoons vegetable oil
    6 center cut pork chops
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup port wine
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 cup cranberry sauce

    Heat oil in large skillet. Add chops and brown on both sides. Remove chops and place in a casserole dish (9 x 12 inches).

    Combine sugar, port wine and spices in a saucepan. Heat until sugar melts, then add cranberry sauce, stir and blend with spoon. Pour over chops in casserole. Cover with foil and bake at 325 degrees F. for 1 hour or until done. (Check casserole at 45 minutes to see if it is done or near completion.)

    Judi's note: This casserole serves 6, but realistically, this recipe serves 3 (2 chops each).
