    Cherry Sauce

    1/2 cup -- water
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 large strip orange zest -- (colored part of
    -- (peel), about 4-1/2
    -- inches
    1 piece cinnamon stick -- (3 inches)
    8 ounces sweet cherries -- pitted, halved
    -- (about 1-1/2 cups
    2 tablespoons Brandy

    Combine the water, sugar, orange zest, and cinnamon in medium saucepan. Boil 2 minutes. Stir in cherries and return to boil. Cook, stirring frequently, 5 minutes. Stir in brandy and cook 1 minute longer. Serve warm over ice cream, cake, pancakes, or waffles.

    Calories per 2 tablespoons = 44.
