Grandma's Green Beans

1 pound fresh green beans
-- (up to 1-1/2 lbs)
1 large potato
Or
2 medium potatoes -- peeled
-- and cut into small pieces
1 small onion -- chopped
1/2 stick butter or margarine
6 oz sour cream --(up to 8)
2 slices bacon (for garnish) -- cooked and
crumbled
Boil cut up green beans along with potatoes until tender. Drain
all liquid.
In skillet, brown the chopped onion in the margarine or butter
lightly ( 8 minutes). Pour this butter mixture over the green
beans and potatoes and mix thoroughly. Add the sour cream and
mix. Garnish with crisp bacon crumbled on top.
Judi's notes: The recipe did not specify how much bacon to use so
I suggest two slices.
