    Make and Bake Ziti Casserole

    Originally a "Recipe Doctor" recipe, but I tweaked it a bit!

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 pound ziti pasta -- uncooked
    1 onion -- chopped
    1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
    16 ounces marinara sauce
    14 1/2 ounce can diced tomatoes
    1 cup fat-free sour cream
    2/3 cup fat-free cheddar cheese
    2 tablespoons fat-free fresh Parmesan cheese

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350º. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain. In large non-stick skillet, brown ground beef and onion over medium heat; add marinara sauce and tomatoes with their liquid. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

    Coat an 8x8" or 9x9" baking dish with canola or olive oil spray. Add half of the pasta, then half of the cheddar cheese, sour cream and meat sauce. Top with remaining noodles, cheddar cheese, sour cream and meat sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top.

    Bake 30 minutes, or until cheeses melt.

    Serves: 8

    Per Serving: 315 Calories; 8g Fat (20.8% calories from fat); 18g Protein; 46g Carbohydrate; 5g Dietary Fiber; 26mg Cholesterol; 387mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1 1/2 Grain(Starch); 1 1/2 Lean Meat; 3 Vegetable; 1/2 Fat; 1/2 Other Carbohydrates.
