    Mississippi Mud Brownies

    I got this recipe from an article in our local newspaper.
    I think the brownies are better the second day as the marshmellow seems to become softer.

    List of Ingredients




    Brownies
    1 cup butter (softened)
    2 cups sugar
    1/3 cup cocoa
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 cup flour
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
    1 pound miniature marshmellows (1 bag)

    Mix butter, sugar, and cocoa. Stir in eggs: add flour, vanilla, salt. Add nuts if disired. Stir; pour into a 9X13 greased baking pan. Bake at 350 deg. for 25-30 minutes or until done. Cover with marshmellows; bake for 3 minutes longer. Spread marshmellow around as if you were speading frosting to work it all together. Let cool completely.

    Frosting
    1 2/3 cups powdered sugar
    1/2 cup butter
    1/3 cup cocoa
    1/3 cup canned evaporated milk

    Mix together and spread over cooled brownies.
