    Christmas Bread Pudding

    Source of Recipe

My own (several trials of diffent recipes combined into one)

    Recipe Introduction

I love Bread Pudding and is my Christmas treat to myself every Christmas morning. Through the years and many recipes this what I feel is the best ever Bread Pudding. And I will say up front if you are on a diet this isn't for you.. But hey its once a year. Enjoy!

    List of Ingredients

    3 large whole eggs (whisked)
    1 egg yolk
    1-1/4 cups of granulated sugar
    1-teaspoon cinnamon
    3 cups heavy cream
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
8 large or 16 small croissants broken up in to 1” pieces
(Croissants are more affordable if you buy from Sam's Club/Cosco)

    Recipe

Whisk together the eggs, yolk, sugar, and vanilla.
Heat cream until hot but not simmering.
Whisk cream in to egg mixture a little at a time careful not to cook the eggs whisking continuously. If some egg did cook you can stain mixture at this point.

Spread broken pieces of croissant in a 9X10 cake pan cover with custard mixture making sure all croissants is dampened with custard. Cover with foil set in and larger pan or baking sheet. Pour boiling water in bottom pan so bread pudding pan has water all around the edges. You may need to add water during the baking if it evaporates to quickly.

Bake at 350 deg. For approximately 45 minutes

Baking time is approximate depending on the depth of pudding.
I insert a knife and if it comes out clean, the pudding is set.
