The Best Rum Sauce Ever It was a Great day when I found this recipe. Ive tweaked it a little from the original. Just that this is a better amount for my Christmas Bread Pudding.
List of Ingredients
Rum Sauce for Bread Pudding
1/4 cup apple juice
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons dark rum
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 stick unsalted butter cut in pieces (best to use unsalted for this recipe)
Recipe
Place butter in a heavy plastic or metal bowl.
In a saucepan combine sugars, apple juice cream, and rum. Bring to a boil; pour 1/2 mixture over butter and whisk constantly until butter is melted and the remainder of hot mixture
Place the bowl into an ice bath to cool, I stir continuously while cooling and this helps to emulsify the sauce. It will go pretty quickly. The sauce will start to look very creamy and smooth.
