Recipe Introduction
Corn bread is the bread of choice for me, especially when I have a heaping bowl of pinto beans or chili beans.
List of Ingredients
1 Cup Sifted All-Purpose Flour
1/4 Cup Sugar
4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Yellow Corn Meal
2 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
1/4 Cup ShorteningRecipe
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; sift together. Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat with electric beater until smooth (do not overbeat). Pour into greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
