    Recipe Introduction

These fritters are great for breakfast.

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
    1/4 Ounce Active Dry Yeast
    1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
    1/2 Teaspoon Salt
    1/4 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
    1/2 Cup ilk
    1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
    2 Tablespoons Honey
    2 Eggs
1 Medium Ripe Pear, Peeled And Chopped
    Oil For Deep-Fat Frying
    Confectioners' Sugar

    Recipe

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. In a saucepan, heat the milk, oil and honey to 120 to 130 degrees. Add to dry ingredients; beat until moistened. Add eggs; beat on medium speed for 3 minutes. Stir in pear. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. In an electric skillet or deep fat fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls, a few at a time, into hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Roll in sugar while warm. Serv warm. Yields about 3 dozen.
