    These colorful cookies are always a favorite at Christmas time.

    List of Ingredients




    2 Tablespoons Red Colored Sugar
    2 Tablespoons Green Colored Sugar
    1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg, Divided
    1 1/2 Cups Flour
    3/4 Cup Sugar
    1 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
    1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
    1/8 Teaspoon Salt
    1/2 Cup Butter, Softened
    1 Egg
    1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In small bowl combine colored sugars and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg. Set aside. In large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Add butter, egg and vanilla. Beat at low speed until well mixed, about 3 minutes. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls into 1-inch balls. Roll in nutmeg, sugar mixture. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets 2-inches apart at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies will spread a lot while baking.
