Swiss steak is the perfect any time meat dish. Great for family and guests.
List of Ingredients
2 Pounds Beef, 1 Inch Thick
1/3 Cup Flour
3 Slices Onion
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
1/2 Cup Water
1 Cup Tomato Juice
Recipe
Dredge steak with mixture of flour, salt and pepper and pound into steak. Brown in hot fat in heavy frying pan. Add onion, water and tomato juice, cover and simmer 1 hour or until tender, turning occasionally. For oven cooking, place meat in casserole and bake covered at 350 degrees about 1 hour.
