Recipe Introduction
A Norwegian favorite. A traditional cookie made for Christmas.
List of Ingredients
12 big egg yolks
1 c. sugar (rounded)
1/2 pint whip cream, whipped
1 jigger whiskey
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cardamon seeds, hulled and crushed (can use powdered cardamon too)
6 cups flour (about)Recipe
Beat egg yolks well; add sugar and beat well. Mix rest of ingredients. Adjust amount of flour so dough is elastic, but not sticky. Roll out on well floured board to very thin. Cut with Fattigmand cutter or cut into diamond shapes about 5x2 inches. Cut slit in the middle of the diamond running lengthwise. Poke one of the long ends through the slit and gently pull through to shape a bow. (Before forming in bow, excess flour should be brushed off.) Deep fry at 375 degrees F. for 2 or 3 minutes, until just golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving. Store in air tight container.
