    List of Ingredients




    4 c. unsifted all purpose flour
    2 T. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. solid vegetable shortening (Crisco)
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 large egg
    1 T. white vinegar

    Recipe



    Mix shortening into dry ingredients with a fork until the size of large peas. Mix water, egg and vinegar. Add to flour mixture and using a fork, stir until a dough is formed. Divide dough into 6 equal portions and flatten out into rounds about 5 inches across. Roll in plastic or wax paper adn chill at least 2 hours. When ready to use, roll on lightly floured board and make into pies. The less flour used to roll out and the less handling, the flakier the crust.
