OVERNIGHT LAYERED SALAD

Recipe Introduction
My Grandma used to make this on special occassions. It was a pretty addition to a nicely set table.
List of Ingredients
1 med. head lettuce, shredded
1/2 c. thinly sliced green onions
1 c. chopped celery
1 8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts
1 10 oz. pkg. frozen peas
2 c. mayonnaise
2 T. sugar
1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/4 tsp. garlic
3 hard cooked eggs, chopped
3/4 lb. crisp bacon, crumbled

Recipe
Layer first five ingredients. Spread mayonnaise over top, sprinkle with sugar, cheese and seasonings. Cover and chill as long as 24 hours. Just before serving sprinkle salad with eggs and bacon. Garnish with tomatoes. To serve use a salad fork and spoon to lift. Do not toss. Use a clear bowl to show the layers.
