Creamy Pesto Pasta

8 ounces rigatoni
1 small onion -- chopped
3 cloves garlic -- minced
1 teaspoon butter -- or olive oil
8 ounces light cream cheese
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup dry white wine
1 cup chopped fresh basil
grated fresh Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper
Cook pasta to al dente. Drain.
Meanwhile, sauté onion and garlic in butter. Add cream cheese and stir until melted. Stir in broth and wine, then add basil. Stir until wilted.
Add pasta, salt and pepper to sauce and top with Parmesan cheese.

NOTES : If the sauce gets, too thick, stir in a little milk or water.
