    Ann, who is 85 and gets more done than anyone I know, makes this for library potlucks.

    Ann VanV's Caramel Corn

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    2 cups light brown sugar
    1/2 cup light corn syrup
    2 sticks margarine*
    8 quarts popped corn
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    pinch cream of tartar
    dash salt

    Combine first three ingredients in heavy saucepan, bring to a boil for 5 minutes, remove from heat, add soda, cream of tartar and salt.

    Pour over popcorn, mix thoroughly, place in large roaster, bake in oven at 200 degrees for 1 hour.

    Pour on wax paper and separate grains, let cool and store in containers [if it lasts that long].
