    Prune Cake

    This was one of my Mother-in-laws favorite recipes.It has been around here over 30 years.

    3 eggs
    1 cup oil
    1½ cups sugar Mix together

    Mix
    2 cups flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. allspice.Add to egg mixture;
    add 1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 cup cooked prunes
    1 cup chopped nuts.
    Mix all together. Bake in 13x9 inch dish. at 350º about 30 minutes or till cake test done.
    Make sauce;
    1 cup sugar
    ½ cup buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 stick butter
    ½ tsp. vanilla1 Tbs. karo corn syrup
    Mix and bring to a boil, pour over cake . Let sit 12 hours before serving.
