    Raisin Cookies

    Raisin Cookie

    1 cup water
    1 cup shortning
    3 eggs, well beaten
    4 cups flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    2 cups raisins
    2 cups sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. b.powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp.allspice
    1 cup chopped nuts


    Preheat oven to 375° F.

    Boil water and raisins 5 minutes; cool. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add to cooled water and raisins.

    Mix dry ingredients; add to raisins. Mix well, add nuts.

    Drop on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
