    Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

    This is great for quick chicken and dumplings, in fact they prefer it over the real thing!!

    4 skinless boneless chicken breasts
    2 tblsp butter or margarine
    2 (10.75 ounce can) cream of chicken soup
    1 small onion, diced
    water to cover
    2 (8 count) cans refrigerator biscuits

    Place chicken in a slow cooker, add butter/margarine, soup, onion, and fill with water to cover. Cover slow cooker and cook on low 5 to 6 hours, or until chicken is cooked through. Approximately 30 minutes before serving, tear biscuits into seperate pieces and place in mixture. The biscuits will turn into the dumplings. Test readiness by cutting one in half, if the center is cooked they are ready to eat.

    I have used 99% fat free soup and omitted the butter and it turned out great. I also only use one can of biscuits and cut them in thirds.
