Recipe Introduction
This is a great pot roast. Very tender and flavorful. Perfect for the crock pot!
List of Ingredients
- 1 2-3 lb. beef chuck pot roast
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. port wine
- 1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
- 3 T. quick cooking tapioca (NOT tapioca pudding)
- 1 T. Worchestershire sauce
- 1 t. dried thyme, crushed
- 1 t. dried oregano, crushed
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 c. hot cooked noodles
Instructions
- Trim fat from roast. If necessary, cut to fit inside a 3-4 quart slow cooker. Place meat in cooker. In a small bowl, combine onion, port, tomato sauce, tapioca, Worchestershire, thyme, oregano and garlic. Pour over roast.
- Cover, cook on low for 8 - 10 hours or high for 4 - 5 hours. Transfer roast to serving platter. Skim fat from gravy. Serve with noodles.
