    Korean BBQ Short Ribs (Gal-Bi)

    Source of Recipe

Adapted from a recipe by funinthesun at allrecipes.com

    Recipe Introduction

I’ve been hearing about Korean BBQ for years and have wanted to try it. I finally found the right cut of meat and was able to make it. This is a delicious marinade and it would work on many things – pork ribs, chicken pieces, etc. I won’t be keeping this one only for beef!

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup soy sauce
    3/4 cup water
    3 tablespoons white vinegar
    1/4 cup dark brown sugar
    2 tablespoons white sugar
    1 tablespoon black pepper
    2 tablespoons sesame oil
    1/4 cup minced garlic
    1/2 large onion, minced
    1 T. fish sauce
    1 T. grated ginger
    1/2 c. sliced green onion
3 pounds Korean-style short ribs (beef chuck flanken, cut 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick across bones)

    Recipe

Whisk together all the ingredients except for the beef. Place the beef in a plastic bag and pour the marinade over. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Remove the meat and discard the marinade. Grill the meat to desired doneness (medium seems to be best for this particular cut).

    Serves 4-6.
