    1905 Columbia Salad

    Recipe Introduction

Columbia restaurant has locations around Florida. I’ve eaten in the St. Augustine and Sarasota ones and loved everything I’ve tried. Their white sangria and this salad are standouts. I had a bunch of Romaine hearts, so that’s what I used and it was fine.

    List of Ingredients

    SALAD:
    1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
1/2 pound sliced Swiss cheese, julienned
    1/2 pound ham, julienned
2 large tomatoes cut into wedges
1/2 cup Spanish olives (or any olive), sliced
    Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 lemon

    DRESSING:
    1/2 cup olive oil
    1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
    1/4 cup white wine vinegar
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp dried oregano
    Dash salt

    Recipe

Whisk together the dressing ingredients and let sit for an hour or so.

Place the lettuce, Swiss cheese, ham, tomatoes, and olive in a bowl. Add dressing to the salad (you may not need it all) and toss well. Add a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce to the salad and squeeze the lemon half over it. Toss again and taste to adjust seasonings, if needed. Serve immediately.

    Serves 4-6.
