    Out of This World Pie

    3/4 c. sugar
    1 TBS. cornstarch
    1 (20 oz.) can pineapple tidbits, undrained
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    1 tsp. red food coloring
    4 bananas, sliced
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry jello
    1 10" baked pie shell
    1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip, thawed
    Finely chopped pecans

    Recipe



    Combine sugar, cornstarch and pineapple w/juice in saucepan and mix well. Stir in pie filling and food coloring. Stir gently to avoid mashing cherries. Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and is well thickened, about 5 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in dry jello. Cool. Gently stir in bananas; spoon into pie shell and refrigerate until set. Cover with cool whip and garnish with pecans.
    Keep refrigerated.
