    Guiness Beef

    I don't know where I got this from, but it is delicious. The original recipe "needed more sauce!" so I doubled those ingredients.

    Guinness Beef

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1/4 cup flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    3 tablespoons flour
    1 tablespoon oil
    1 1/2 pounds chuck roast -- cut into 2" cubes
    3/4 pound carrots -- cut into 2" cubes
    2 medium onions -- chopped
    1/2 teaspoon dried basil
    1 1/2 cups Guiness
    2 teaspoons honey
    1 1/2 cups beef stock

    Preheat oven to 325 F.

    Dredge beef in flour/salt/pepper. Brown in oiled hot skillet. Put beef, carrots and onions into greased casserole dish.

    Cook 3 T flour in skillet 1 minute. Stir in basil and Guinness, bring to boil and cook 1 minute. Stir in honey and beef stock, return to boil.

    Pour sauce over meat. Cover and bake 2 hours at 325 F.
