    BEEF STROGANOFF IN A CROCKPOT

    List of Ingredients

    2 lbs.round steak
    1 1/2 c.beef bouillon (canned)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tbls. catsup
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 tbls. dry white wine
1 c. white onion (fewer carbs) sliced
    1/2 lb.mushrooms -- fresh, sliced
    1/4 tsp.garlic salt
    1 tbls. Worcestershire sauce
    1 c. sour cream
guar gum (available at the health food store) optional

    Recipe

Cut steak into 1/4-inch strips. Coat with salt and pepper. Drop into the bottom of a crock pot with onion. Mix garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce,
bouillon, and ketchup. Pour over the meat. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until tender. Turn control to high. Add wine and mushrooms. Add a little bit guar gum to thicken the mixture. Cook on high for 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Stir in sour cream; turn off heat.

Tip: Since I'm single, I like to follow the instructions until it comes to adding the sour cream. I put it in 4 freezer bags and then pop it in the freezer. When I want some of it, I defrost it, warm it up and add sour cream (1/4 c. per package).
NOTE:If you are opposed to using wine, you may omit it, but I think it tastes better with that small amount in the recipe.
