Recipe Introduction
Remember those tasty 3 bean salads from the 1950's and 60's? Are you having trouble duplicating them? Try this recipe, I think you'll be very happy with it.
List of Ingredients
1 can green beans, drained
1 can yellow (wax) beans, drained
1 can red (kidney) or black beans, drained
optional: you may wish to also add a can of garbanzo or baby lima beans which have been drained.
DRESSING:
2 Tbls. (or more) chopped onion (I prefer red onions)
3/4 c sugar (I use Splenda, granulated)
2/3 c white vinegar (or cider or vinegar)
1/3 c canola oil
optional: 1 tsp ground pepper
Recipe
Open each can of beans and pour into a strainer to drain off all juices. Pour into a large bowl or zip top bag.
In a large cup, combine dressing ingredients and mix.
Pour dressing over the top and mix. (It can be transfered to a serving bowl later if using a bag.)
Refrigerate several hours or overnight, mixing periodically.
I like to serve this on a be of red lettuce or radicco for eye appeal.
