Wilted Lettuce

Recipe Introduction
My mother made this tasty dish when we were growing up and I've never lost my taste for it. The only change I've made is to use Splenda instead of sugar in the dressing.
List of Ingredients
4 - 6 c. torn leaf lettuce
6 slices Bacon, chopped
1 tbls. bacon grease
1/2 c vinegar
1/4-1/2 Splenda
top of a green onion, chopped
salt and pepper to tasteRecipe
While bacon is cooking to the point of crispness, clean and tear leaf lettuce.
Remove bacon from the pan and drain, saving about 1-2 tbls. of the bacon grease in the pan.
Add vinegar, Splenda, onion, salt and pepper to the bacon grease.
Bring to a boil and cook for minute or two.
Drizzle over the lettuce in a bowl. Cover the bowl with the hot pan for a few minutes to allow lettuce to finish wilting. Serve warm for a delicious treat.
