Bread Pudding

List of Ingredients
- 3 cups stale french bread cut into 3/4 inch cubes
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 TBSP vanilla extract
- 1/2 TSP cinnamon
- 1/4 TSP nutmeg
- 4 TBSP butter, melted and cooled
- 1/2 cup white raisins
- CARAMEL SAUCE
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light karo syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 TBSP vinegar
- 1 TSP soda
Instructions
- Place bread in bowl. Cover with the milk and cream.
- With a electric mixer on high beat eggs and sugar until pale. Stir in vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter and raisins.
- Add soaked bread to mixture.
- Transfer mixture to greased 9x9 greased baking dish.
- Bake at 350 until firm or until a knife comes out clean. approximately 45 minutes.
- Cool slightly. Serve with caramel sauce.
- Combine all ingredients for sauce.
Boil for 1 minute.
- Serve over pudding.
