Red Velvet Cake
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups cake flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vinegar
1 small bottle red food coloring
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups Crisco
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup buttermilk
Combine sugar and oil, beat until creamy. Add eggs and beat. Add Flour, coloring, and vanilla. Mix well.
Add sifted flour alternately with buttermilk. Beat until smooth.Mix vinegar and soda, add to mixture and beat
until bubbles are gone. Pour into 3-9 inch cake pans and bake 325 drgrees for 20-25 minutes..
FILLING:
8 oz. package cream cheese
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1cup nut(opt)
1 tsp vanilla
Combine all ingredients until smooth and creamy, spread over cake..
