    CABBAGE ROLLS

    Serves 4..(2 per person)

    8 large cabbage leaves
    1 cup cooked rice
    1/2 lb ground beef + 1/2 lb ground sausage, browned and drained
    salt, pepper, paprika oregano,.. all to taste.
    1 cup of finely chopped onions
    1 beaten egg or egg substitute
    1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese

    Boil cabbge leaves for 5 min. only, set aside

    Combine the rest of ingredients, divide into 8 equal portions. Place each portion into a cabbage leaf and secure with a toothpick, or light string. Add rolls to sauce and simmer 1 hour or more. You can also bake in casserole dish, single layered, on 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs.


    SAUCE:

    1 large can of favorite spaghetti sauce (16 oz)
    1 cup chopped onions(opt)
    Season to taste with:
    salt, pepper, oregano, garlic

    Pace rolls on plate to serve, Spoon on sauce and top with extra fresh parmesan cheese..
