Recipe Introduction
Debbie brought this to Aunty Bev's the year that I had my stem cell replacement (99). Bev and I, mostly Bev, cooked a turkey for Thanksgiving that year. We had fun. Don's parents, Debbie and John, Uncle Barr, Papa and Baba, and of course all the dogs.
List of Ingredients
- 1 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup salad dressing or mayo
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion
- 10 to 12 piesces bacon-cooked crisp
- 1 tin crab meat-drained
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 pumpernickel loaf
Instructions
- Beat all ingredients together with a mixer until fairly smooth.
- Cut the top off of a pumpernickel bread. Pull out insides in chunks.
- Fill cavity with dip.
- Wrap in foil and bake @350 for 2 hours.
- Serve with pieces of pumpernickel and crackers.
Final Comments
This is a very popular appetizer to bring to a party.
