FRENCH SILK DESSERT (posted by Becky at cyber kitchen)
Rich and delicious, and of course, chocolate!! This is very similar to French silk pie, but feeds more people.
Crust:
1/4 lb soft butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c flour
1/2 c chopped pecans
Mix together and pat into a 13x9 pan. Bake 15 minutes at 400 or until lightly browned. Remove from oven, mix again, then pat down and let cool.
Filling:
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 lb butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
3 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
4 eggs
2 c whipped cream or topping
chocolate shavings, optional
Cream together the sugar and butter. Add vanilla and melted chocolate.
ONE AT A TIME, beat in the eggs, beating 5 MINUTES between each egg - ABSOLUTELY MUST DO THIS!!! Pour over cooled crust and freeze for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove and spread on whipped cream or topping. Top with chocolate shavings if desired. Freeze until time to serve.
