Recipe Introduction
I wanted to try this recipe mostly because of our German heritage. Also I am a carb addict. I use the very inexpensive contraption. Lesley and Pat have the expensive one from Clem.
List of Ingredients
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup cold water
Instructions
- Sift flour into large bowl. Add salt. Make a well in the centre. In another bowl whisk together the eggs and water. Add the dry ingredients and beat with a spatula until smooth and elastic.
- Push batter through spaetzle maker into a large pot of boiling salted water and cook uncovered just until noodles rise to the top and are firm. Check for raw flour flavour and cook more if necessary. Approx 3-5 minutes.
- Drain well and may add some butter if you like. I serve with pork roast and gravy.
