    Biscuits, Buttermilk

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 C unbleached all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 2 tsp baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp baking soda
    • 1 T graulated sugar (optional)
    • 6 T cold unsalted butter
    • 2/3 C cold buttermilk


    Instructions


    1. Combine dry ingredients. Cut in the butter, until it resembles coarse meal. Stir in buttermilk until mixture holds together.

    2. Roll and pat out dough to 3/4 inch thick. Cut biscuits with 2 1/2 inch diameter cutter. Bake on center rack of oven 12-15 minutes, or until deep golden brown on top.
