Coffee Bread, Double Quick

Recipe Introduction
Grease an 8 inch pan or 9 inch ring mold. Make the topping and have it ready. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
List of Ingredients
3/4 C warm water
1 pkg dry yeast
1/4 C sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 C sifted flour
1 egg
1/4 C butter or shortening
Topping;
1/3 C butter
1/2 C brown sugar
1 T corn syrup
1/2 C pecans or walnutsRecipe
Topping;
Melt butter in a pan with the brown sugar and syrup. Add the nuts and pour it into the 8 or 9 inch pan. Cool to warm.
Bread;
Dissolve yeast in water. Add the sugar and salt and about half of the flour. Beat thoroughly for 2 minutes. Add eggs and butter. Gradually beat in the remaining flour until smooth.
Drop dough by spoonfuls over entire bottom of pan with the syrup in it. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 50-60 minutes.
Bake until brown, 30-35 minutes.Immediately turn out to avoid sticking. Serve warm or cold.
