Add a pint of hops to a 1/2 gallon of water. Cover and boil to a half reduction. Strain it over flour to make a thick batter. cool and add a teacup (6 oz) of yeast, 3 tablespoons of salt and a spoonful of ginger. When well risen, work in as much cornmeal so as to make a dough of biscuit consistency. Let rise again. Roll out thin and and cut in rounds or squares. Dry thoroughly in a warm place away from the sun, turning twice a day. store in a tight wooden box or hang in a cloth sack in a dry place.
