1 pkg yeast
1 1/3 C tepid water
2/3 C milk
2 T lard
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
5 C sifted flour
Recipe
Dissolve yeast in water. Heat milk to a scald and add lard, salt ans sugar. Stir. Cool to tepid. Add milk mixture to yeast mixture gradually by adding some milk and flour, mixing well after each addition. Grease the top of the dough with oil. Grease bowl, add dough and roll to grease the top. Let rise 1 1/2 hours.
Punch down and raise again in greased loaf pan. About 1/2 an hour.
Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees F.
Remove from oven, butter top and turn pan on it's side to cool.
